NicoleSantos
Born with 9lbs of weight and the eldest in the family, Nicole attended nursery twice because at that time, she planned to transfer Kindergarten in Manresa School. Unfortunately, they don’t want to accept her because she was only 3yrs old then. When she started studying in Manresa, she made it in the Chess Varsity Team and Consortium in De La Salle Zobel. She got expelled when she was in Junior High and continued to study in Montessori de Manila; she became an active Cadet Officer and continued her career as a Military Training Instructor (MTI) for COLT (Cadet Officers Leadership Training) in Manresa School.
Dancing Experience:
Dancing has been a huge part of Nicole’s life ever since she was young and innocent though she never really wanted to give any serious attention and effort to be a well-known dancer in her community. Reaching the age of 9, Nicole became active in joining organizations and school events. And one of the activities that she has been part of, in terms of dancing, is the cheering squad. She started off as a cheerdancer during her 4th grade in Manresa School and has been a member for three consecutive years. After graduating her secondary level, she halted herself from cheering and stopped dancing for 2 years.
Attending 3rd year high in Montessori de Manila (MDM), she started dancing again by joining amateur dance competitions like the Linggo ng Wika Interpretative Dance and Cheerdance Competitions for two consecutive years, and finally, she became a part of MDM’s Talent Festival – the “Once upon a Broadway Show” during her senior year.
Currently a member of eCSentric crew in Southville Int’l School and Colleges. Still, she doesn’t consider herself a great performer. She dances to be a student, she dance to fight stress, and to get away from all the lame things she encounters in her everyday life. It’s all about having fun ;)
eCSentric Queen
on eCSentric:
She joined the dance crew so she could get away from all the lame things the school has to offer. The dance crew was by far, the only thing that was worth her time. When she joined the crew, she took it as a “one time big time” experience at first since her focus was all on adjusting with the new environment she has entered. Then there she met the choreographer, Christian Sekhanan. He is reserved most of the time. But it is only when he got to know the crew around him that he began opening up his heart to them. There seems to be this glow that never ceases to radiate from inside of him—and it shines upon the people he cares about.
The LA type of dance wasn’t new to her at all since it was a part of their routine for the Cheering Competition when she was still in 4th yr High School. It was hard for her at first but her knowledge of the dance helped her in some way.
Though all that was given, it all changed. Her focus was now on her dancing. And now, eCSentric is her favorite subject. (if you know what I mean, lol)
It made her really happy. Though they’re not the best dancers, nothing beats the company of eCSentric.
Overmind's thoughts
the really poetic thing about Nicole is that she IS an actual functional eccentric. and functional eccentricity is the goal of this whole crew. which is why i think she understands this crew so well. she is not only a believer of our ecsentric philosophy but she has also shaped our philosophy as well making her just a cut above the rest.
having eccentrics in eCSentric is really what this crew is all about. we are different, a bit difficult to understand.
dance-wise Nicole "Ni Xiang" Santos has grown tremendously, outdoing a lot of her co-ecsentrics being one of the only original 8 members who remain in the crew. Ni xiang didn't grow overnight, her development is only proof of her genuine loyalty to the crew. what people don't know about ni xiang is that she is not just a dancer in the crew... she's one of the key organs that keeps this crew alive. without her, the whole ecsentric operation would fail.
In terms of dancing, although Nicole's first style of dance is cheer dancing, Nicole has excelled in the eccentric form of dance. If there is anyone who could learn my choreography fast and perform it the way I intended it to look it would Nicole. Nicole isn't one of our active freestylers but no one works harder to stay faithful to the choreography than Nicole.
although Nicole doesn't freestyle much one thing people don't know about Nicole is that she's really good at gliding. yes, you read it right, gliding. moonwalking, jooking, memphis bucking, g-walking, gliding, ehatever you may call it. THAT is Nicole's personal style, so watch out 'coz you ain't seen nothing yet.
